12/09/19: The all new electric car from Volkswagen was unveiled this week at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The World Premiere of the ID.3 showed off its ground-breaking design, impressive driving dynamics and spacious interior. Less like a space-age pod and now looking more like a real production car, the ID.3 was turning heads.
The ID.3 partially gets its name from being the third era in Volkswagen’s history, as well as being the centrepiece of segment three, ahead of the Polo and T-Cross
There will be two initial battery releases with varying range at launch.
The ID.3 will be built at Volkswagen’s first all-electric vehicle production facility in Germany.
Range anxiety will be a thing of the past as the ID.3 will have 3 battery sizes in total - a smaller battery option with a range of up to 205 miles, a medium battery (around 270 mile range) and a larger battery with a maximum range of around 340 miles.
Recharging will be faster too and Volkswagen will offer a guarantee of 8 years or 99,000 miles on ID.3 batteries, helping to put customers’ minds at ease who may be worried about length of battery life.
