Why Use Digital Self Check-In?

There's nothing worse than being pressed for time and arriving to drop off your vehicle for service, only to find there are four other people in the queue before you! What to do? No doubt you'll feel stressed and under pressure, not a great start to your day! But help is at hand with the option of our new digital self check-in system.

Now installed at selected branches across the Group, you can check in and leave your keys securely without having to use the service reception.

Here's how...

How Does Digital Self Check-In Work?

On booking your service you will be sent a confirmation text to your smartphone. Using the link in the text, you can start to complete your check-in no matter where you are. Whether you have started your check-in or not, you can complete your check-in with our new showroom kiosks.

The interactive check-in kiosks are very easy to use and clearly visible in our reception areas but please feel free to ask if you require any assistance. Using the touchscreen you can complete your check-in, mark where you have parked your car, select additional service options and leave messages for the service team. You can even request a service plan quote which we can discuss over the phone with you or when you collect your vehicle. You can pop your keys into the secure key locker which opens when you have completed your check-in. Then you're free to go about your day!

Can I Use Digital Check-Out On Collection?

Collecting your car later is easy too. If you would like to use our self-service check-out kiosks to pick up your keys when your car is ready then we will send you a text to tell you your car is ready for collection. You can pay online via our secure payment app or over the phone and then you'll be sent a secure 4-digit code straight to your mobile. Just enter the pin into the correct kiosk when prompted and a locker will open with your keys inside. During the self-check-out process we will even tell you where we parked your car, and your Service Advisor can leave personalised notes on screen for you too.

Can I Still Speak To A JCB Staff Member?

Of course, if you prefer to speak to our Service Advisors when you arrive, they are more than happy to help you. They will still be there to help and advise you. They will still act as Customer Champions, checking the progress of your vehicle through the workshop while it's with us. If you are curious, then do ask about our new digital self-check-in / out next time you phone or when you drop by, we will be happy to show you how it works.

How Successful Has Digital Self Check-In Been?

Having been trialled by Volkswagen at pilot service centres, they are confident that the digital self-check-in service will offer customers greater convenience and flexibility when visiting service departments. This new technology is being used in many other retail areas, such as Amazon Lockers for secure parcel pick up, so you can be confident with the concept of using the digital self-check-in / out technology.

Across the JCB Group branches that have installed digital self check-in, the majority of our customers are using home digital check-in and many are using the kiosk check-in on site. At the moment the kiosks are only available within the showrooms during opening hours, but we are looking into the logistics of having out of hours facilities.
