Volkswagen's all-electric race car has smashed the track record at Germany's Nurburgring. The ID.R has set a world record. The all-electric ID.R race car completed the Nurburgring circuit in a time of 6.05.339. This beat the previous record holder, the NIO EP9, which achieved 6.45.90 at the circuit in 2017. This means the ID.R is the fastest electric vehicle in history to complete the famous circuit!
The ID. R’s run helped gather vital technological information that will be shared with the forthcoming road-going ID. models.
