The world premiere of the new California has taken place. This new version is based on the long version of the Multivan.
Based on the MQB technical platform, this means eHybrid driving is possible with 4MOTION all-wheel drive. It will be available in 3 versions: Beach Camper, Coast and Ocean.
Other innovations include double sliding doors and double awnings; extra length and width with 3 zone concept and the 'Cali on Tour' app to control multiple functions. Plug-in hybrid technology means that the New California can be driven emission-free around town and then increase the range for longer journeys.
The New California can be managed by the campervan control unit, smartphone or the infotainment system.
A multifunctional tablet allows you to control things such as the pop-up roof, lighting, heating, and to monitor fresh and waste water levels and power supply status. You can also use it to watch your favourite films and TV shows.
Double sliding doors allow for easy loading and unloading and exit and entry points. Seating in the front can rotate 180 degrees to allow for lounge areas or sleeping areas in the rear and for removal of individual seats if necessary. Kitchen units and awnings can create an outdoor kitchen facility.
