These figures were obtained after the battery had been fully charged. The ABT eTransporter 6.1 is a battery electric vehicle requiring mains electricity for charging. Figures shown are for comparability purposes. Only compare fuel consumption, CO2 and electric range figures with other vehicles tested to the same technical procedures. These figures may not reflect real life driving results, which will depend upon a number of factors including the starting charge of the battery, accessories fitted (post-registration), variations in weather, driving styles and vehicle load. Zero emissions while driving. Data correct at [05/20].
Still unsure about trying electric commercial vehicles? Let us try to reassure you.
The ABT eTransporter 6.1 has an electric drivetrain which doesn't compromise on power. It can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 17.4 seconds. Built to Volkswagen's exacting standards, the electric motor is lighter, quieter and smoother to drive. The payload is not compromised either as the compact batteries are fitted below the load area. The high voltage battery is backed by an 8 year/100,000 mile warranty (whichever occurs sooner) on all material or manufacturing defects.
There is no road tax (VED) to pay on this electric Transporter. Lower running and servicing costs save you money longer term. Because the ABT eTransporter 6.1 has zero emissions, it is exempt from low emission zone charges and the London Congestion Charge. The Government is currently offering grants to help with the cost of installing charging stations. We can give you more information on this.
The combined charging system (CCS) socket allows you the ability to charge via both AC and DC. You can therefore charge both at home or on the go. You can also charge at home via a domestic 3-pin socket or a wallbox. (We recommend having the condition and suitability of your home wiring checked by a suitably qualified electrician. Do not overload your system.) A specific electric vehicle charging point is the recommended home charging option. Government grants are available for installation of wallboxes. A Type 2 charging cable is included with the vehicle as standard.
AC chargers will recharge the vehicle overnight, whereas DC chargers work much faster. With power up to 50kW, a DC charger can bring the ABT eTransporter 6.1 from 0-80% charge in as little as 45 mintues (approximately). Please ask us for more details on charging and the factors which influence this process.
