The latest model in ŠKODA’s SUV range is called the KAMIQ.
The word KAMIQ comes from the language of the Inuit people living in northern Canada and Greenland. It describes something that fits as perfectly as a second skin in every situation. Sounds a perfect name!
The ŠKODA KAMIQ is an urban crossover model that presents itself as an ideal companion to everyday life in the modern city and beyond.
The new KAMIQ is a compact city SUV offering a lifestyle-oriented entry-level SUV model for our customers.
The KAMIQ combines the agility and handling of a compact car with the traditional advantages of a sport utility vehicle – higher seating position, better visibility, easier to get in and out, and higher ground clearance. Based on the modular transverse matrix (MQB), the latest ŠKODA model offers new assistance systems, state-of-the-art infotainment and is packed with numerous ‘Simply Clever’ features that have popularised the brand just as much as the generous space.
Great for families as well as lifestyle oriented drivers.
The design is the first ŠKODA to have dynamic indicators at the front and rear. The headlamp lenses with crystalline effects and LED units enhance the car’s premium appeal. The wide, upright radiator grille, which comes with double slats, is another typical feature for the ŠKODA SUV design. The striking ‘tornado line’ visually elongates the vehicle. Daytime running lights are also included. The design blends seamlessly with the KODIAQ and KAROQ, the other SUVs in the ŠKODA range.
The interior has a free-standing display touch-screen of 9.2 inches. The virtual cockpit is 10.25 inches wide and so gives great visibility.
Ambient lighting is available in 3 colours; white, red and copper. These highlight the shades and coloured contrasting stitching on the seat covers. The seat covers are available in Suedia microfibre as an option.
Seating and heating for chilly weather is well provided for. The KAMIQ's comfort options are often only seen in higher vehicle segments. For example, there's a heated steering wheel and heated windscreen. The heated seat options are available not only for the two front seats, but also for the outer seats in the back. The tailgate can be opened and closed at the touch of a button thanks to the tip-to-close function.
Engines come in petrol or diesel ranging from 1.0 to 1.6 litres. All engines are direct-injection units with turbochargers. They come with brake energy recovery as well as stop/start technology. Driving mode selection offers normal, sports, eco and individual modes. Underbody protection is offered as an optional extra for drivers who want to go off-road.
Safety and Driver Assistance
Safety sensors and driver assistance technology help the driver to react in potentially dangerous situations. It helps keep the vehicle in lane, avoid collisions and avoid blind spots. Optional rear-view camera and park assist is also available.
Infotainment is offered at 3 different levels. Chose from Swing, Bolero and Amundsen with up to 10 speakers! A permanent internet connection provides eCall, which communicates the car's location in the event of an accident. Proactive Service stays in contact with the dealership to co-ordinate service appointments. All the car's data can be accessed remotely from the ŠKODA Connect App. For example, you could check how much fuel is left in the tank via your mobile phone!
