After the shocking and distressing television scenes of a player collapsing during the start of football's UEFA Euro 2020 competition, it was brought home to us how unpredictable life can be.
The player, only in his late 20's, collapsed from cardiac arrest; but his life was saved by the use of cardiac resuscitation equipment in the form of a defibrillator.
We wanted to reassure our customers and staff that all our JCB Group branches throughout Kent and Sussex have a defibrillator on site. Health and safety is a priority and defibrillators are stored in strategic positions in every showroom or work shop.
A defibrillator is an automated portable electronic device that can check the heart's rhythm and send a shock to the heart to restore normal rhythm if necessary. The device is used to help people having sudden cardiac arrest.
