The JCB Group is preparing to catapult itself into the top 50 UK dealership groups after adding yet another accolade to its collection.
Our family-owned motor group achieved 35th place at the MegaGrowth 50 awards, a prestigious business league table which recognises the 50 fastest-growing, privately-owned businesses in Kent ranked by growth in turnover, staff numbers and exports.
This is the fourth year in a row that the Group has been selected for the MegaGrowth list, recognising the successful vision of MD Jonathan Bischoff who founded, and still leads, the company.
Jonathan said: “Being recognised as MegaGrowth 50 company is a fantastic accolade. It’s a real achievement to be considered among other leading Kent businesses and a testament to the excellence of the staff at JCB Group.
“Throughout my headship, I’ve been very much centered on developing a regional dealership group which is customer-focused and financially robust. We’ve seen rapid expansion in the last four years, most recently buying-out the Hidsons Group, which added another five dealerships to our portfolio, along with 200 new staff and introducing partnerships with automotive brands KIA, Citroen, Mitsubishi and SsangYong.
“Since JCB Group’s inception, now some 20 years ago, we’ve proven that there’s a healthy market for good old-fashioned service in supporting motorists, where people are looked after. Customers are also concentrating their purchases around vehicles which are reliable and offer value-for-money. Historically, the Volkswagen Group brands we’ve become synonymous with, along with our new brands, fit this recipe and with our influence and reach in the automotive industry firmly covering all of parts of Kent and most of Sussex, while offering a price match service and free UK mainland delivery for the savvy online shopper; we’re becoming a first-stop for many customers in a tough market.
“Our formula is definitely working and was cemented by the news that the JCB Group moved to 85th place in the AM 100 UK dealer listings this year, up 12 places from 2017.”
Jonathan added, “I’m especially proud to have been able to grow the business during a time when many others have succumbed to external economic pressures. Looking at the list of companies we sit among, I’m not only very proud to be part of a strong network of entrepreneurs, but also inspired as there is a clear and genuine sense of community among Kent businesses, hence the region’s success.”
Now in its 18th year, MegaGrowth 50 is compiled based on the average turnover growth of privately owned businesses that have a minimum turnover of £1m. It is staged by the Kent Messenger Group.
The independently owned JCB Group now employs over 500 staff throughout Kent and Sussex.
