AUTOMOTIVE GROUP SEARCHES FOR MORE RISING STARS TO JOIN APPRENTICESHIP SCHEME

The search is on for more talented people to join one of Kent and Sussex’s biggest automotive group’s apprenticeship scheme.

The JCB Group is searching for apprentices for disciplines including parts, sales and workshop (technicians) for a number of or brands.

JCB Group’s vehicle manufacturing partners will serve as the learning provider in conjunction with Babcock International, which will give our apprentices the opportunity to work on cutting edge automotive technology and gain a nationally recognised qualification, while earning.

All placements will be for a 36-month period and on successful completion will have the potential to lead to permanent employment for any UK resident over the age of 16 and not in full time education.

Jonathan Bischoff, JCB Managing Director said: “The JCB Group is committed to apprenticeships as part of our continued investment to attract bright, young and ambitious talent into the business. And to that effect, we are delighted to offer a minimum of 15 roles here in the South East, providing young people with the opportunity to build their confidence, skills, and experience in a dynamic and continually evolving industry.

“During the pandemic, all age groups have been affected and this recruitment drive is our small part in helping to support young people in these challenging circumstances. Unfortunately, there is sometimes a perception among those outside the industry who do not see the potential, variety or value of careers in the automotive industry. This couldn't be further from the truth.

"The Automotive industry is one of the biggest employers in Europe and those entering the industry at a relatively junior level can quite easily work their way up the career ladder, as there is room for development and growth. Likewise, there is a huge variety of specialisms and careers on offer.

"Our scheme enables people to learn hands on, while gaining a qualification, which increases their chances of gaining full-time permanent employment and to become long standing members of the JCB Family. The investment also demonstrates our confidence and ambition for the future despite the difficult economic challenges the UK finds itself in.”

Applicants will need to meet specific eligibility criteria to apply for an Apprenticeship. The hours of work are a minimum 35 hours per week, with the national minimum wage for apprentices, depending on age, being applied monthly.
