Often considered the rival of the Ford Transit Custom, the model offers a range of technology, that is standard with every Mercedes-Benz Vito, designed to make the driving experience smoother and more enjoyable. This includes features such as Active Parking Assist, the ergonomic 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a complex infotainment system and a reversing camera. The Vito Panel Van is the first and only in its class to offer the option of front-wheel or rear-wheel drive as well as being well known for its customisable elements.
But it seems there’s a brand new change coming to the Vito as Mercedes-Benz have decided to streamline the Vito van range through implementing a range of new cleaner engines that meet the latest emissions standards. As of May 2019, the Mercedes-Benz Vito will be made with brand new Euro 6c compliant power units as well as additional connectivity equipment.
However, not all of the changes to the Vito are being made under the hood with another element of the update from Mercedes bringing in instrument cluster and Mercedes Pro Connect to the Mercedes Vito. The Mercedes Pro Connect is a connectivity system that is described as “fast, efficient and cost-effective vehicle management services” by Mercedes. As part of the Mercedes Pro Connect, the emergency call system known as eCall, fleet communication, maintenance and repair management are included in the package. Digital trip management, theft warning and accident and breakdown assist are also features of the Mercedes Pro Connect.
But that’s not all from Mercedes, a new model to the Vito Tourer minibus range will be introduced for September production onwards. The model is unnamed as of yet but this model is said to be certified with the latest Euro 6d-Temp emissions standards. We look forward to seeing what Mercedes has in store...
