CUPRA Plans 3 New Models For The Next Three Years

3 New Electrified Models Joining The Line-up By 2025

25/07/2022

At its 'Unstoppable Impulse' Event in Terramar, Sitges, the CUPRA brand revealed its intention to launch 3 new models by the end of 2025.

The new models will be named the CUPRA Terramar, the CUPRA Tavascan and the CUPRA UrbanRebel. Existing models Leon, Formentor and Born are also likely a facelift by 2025 as well.

Starting as a trim option on the SEAT brand, the CUPRA brand established its own identity only 4 years ago, in 2018, breaking away as a separate brand. It is already among the top award winners, with accolades from AutoCar, What Car? and Company Car & Van.

CUPRA's ambitious plans are to deliver 500,000 cars per year and expand into new markets and new segments worldwide.

The CUPRA Terramar

The CUPRA Terramar will be a sports SUV with plug-in hybrid technology as an option, able to deliver up to 62 miles in all-electric mode. The Design Director of CUPRA, Jorge Diez, described it as a sporty hybrid SUV, perfectly combining bold proportions with a long striking bonnet, with a shark nose denoting breakthrough resistance and the determination to win! A 4.5 metre-long SUV with CUPRA DNA.

The CUPRA Tavascan

Launching in 2024, the design remains faithful to the concept car created in 2019. Anyone following the Extreme E-Concept 2021 will have seen a few of the design cues.

The CUPRA UrbanRebel

Due for 2025, the UrbanRebel - an urban electric car, will be unleashed onto the market. A front-wheel drive, it will deliver an emotional, high-performance urban vehicle based on the Volkswagen Group MEB platform. This model will be key to lead CUPRA into being a fully electric brand in the future. Sustainability is important in this model and it uses advanced recycled polymers and bio-based materials to push the boundaries of what is achievable for an environmentally conscious vehicle. Lightweight design and the 226PS (166kW) electric motor and battery pack leads UrbanRebel to reach 100km in just 6.9 seconds. It is predicted to have a range of up to 273 miles. The CUPRA UrbanRebel hopes to 'democratise' urban electric mobility, making electric driving accessible and fun for the next generation.

CUPRA Ateca and CUPRA Leon launched the stand-alone brand followed by the best-selling Formentor. In 2021, the CUPRA Born launched, becoming the brand's first all-electric car.
