JCB Group Bake Off & Afternoon Tea for Breast Cancer Now
On Thursday 21st August, our sites turned pink for the day in support of Breast Cancer Now’s Afternoon Tea campaign.
Team members dressed in their best pink outfits, enjoyed tea, cake, and great company — and even took part in our very own JCB Bake Off! The creativity and effort were fantastic, with an array of “Think Pink” cakes and bakes proudly made in the fundraising spirit.
It was a truly special day across the Group. Colleagues took time to pause, connect, and reflect on a cause that means so much to so many of us. Every ten minutes, someone in the UK is diagnosed with breast cancer — a figure expected to rise to every eight minutes by 2040.
We originally set out to raise £500, but thanks to the generosity and team spirit of everyone involved, we smashed our target — raising an incredible £1,128.29 for Breast Cancer Now!
These funds will help provide vital research, support, and information for people affected by breast cancer.

JCB Pedal for Prostate: Cycling for a Great Cause
Just a few weeks later, on Thursday 16th October, we swapped the cakes for cycling gear as we took on “JCB Pedal for Prostate” in support of Prostate Cancer UK.
Three of our dealerships — Volkswagen Medway, Ashford Orbital Kia, and Škoda Crawley — transformed their showrooms into mini cycling arenas for the day, each with an exercise bike ready to go!
From 8:30am to 5:00pm, staff took turns pedalling their hearts out, clocking up miles and donations while raising awareness for prostate cancer — the most common cancer in men, affecting 1 in 8 men in the UK.
The results were amazing:
- Volkswagen Medway cycled an impressive 150 miles.
- Ashford Orbital Kia covered 125 miles.
- Škoda Crawley saw incredible individual efforts, with one team member cycling 32 miles in one go — a brilliant warm-up for his upcoming London to Brighton ride next year!
The atmosphere was buzzing, with customers and colleagues cheering on the cyclists and donating generously throughout the day.
“We’re so proud of our teams for their amazing effort and enthusiasm,” said Jemima Spencer, Marketing Assistant at the JCB Group. “Events like this really showcase what makes the JCB Group special — our community spirit and passion for making a difference.”
