Exterior Styling Details
New wheel designs and body colours are available, meaning you can really personalise your Golf. The bumper and grille have changed, now with LED day-time running lights and optional full LED headlamps. The lower grille now has the Adaptive Cruise Control sensor behind the Volkswagen badge (except on GTE and e-Golf, where the badge hides the vehicle's charge point).
The rear of the new Golf has premium styling with new LED tail-lights, new rear bumper and an enhanced rear diffuser.
This is where the new Golf really comes up to right now - the very latest technologies have been included to make your journey as safe and stress free as possible. As a business driver, spending a lot of time on the road, you can keep informed and in touch with no problem.
The next generation MIB infotainment systems are included in all trims. The Composition Media and Discover Navigation screen size has increased to 8-inch. You can still choose Discover Navigation Pro, with its 9.2-inch screen and new Gesture Control technology. This means the user simply swipes their hand in front of the unit to change audio settings and menu items. Active Info Display is standard on the performance Golf trims, adding significant additional value.
The Latest Safety Features
Optional safety features use the latest, state-of-the-art technology to help you drive more intelligently and safely:
New BlueLine Trim
To meet CO2 thresholds, we've introduced the GTD BlueLine Hatch and Estate models. If your company has a fleet with a 120g/km CO2 policy this could be ideal for you. By way of example, the facelifted Golf Hatch GTD with 18" alloys as standard has a CO2 value of 122g/km. The Golf Hatch GTD BlueLine with 17" alloys as standard has a CO2 value of 116g/km and improved fuel efficiency.
The new Golf engines are highly efficient. Even the new base model, petrol engine, with turbo-charged direct-injection 1.0 TSI 85PS, has 58.9 mpg combined fuel consumption.
Also introduced is the turbo-charged petrol 1.5 TSI Evo engine - a new four cylinder unit that generates 150PS and features Active Cylinder Management. There is also a BlueMotion version producing 130PS which features a complete engine shut-down function (as in the hybrid Golf GTE). The new 7-speed dual clutch gearbox (DSG) helps deliver improved CO2 figures.
Performance trims such as Golf GTI generate 230PS or 245PS. Golf R reaches an impressive 310PS, more output than ever before. It goes from 0 - 62mph in just 4.6 seconds!
All Golfs also feature BlueMotion Technologies such as stop-start and regenerative braking.
New Golf is definitely worth considering for a reliable, safe and up-to-the-minute hatch for your fleet.
