What do I need to bring with me on the day?

A current full driving licence (excluding the paper counter part) held for a minimum of 12 months, Authorisation code from the DVLA https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence. A current utility bill dated within 3 months of the rental date and a credit/debit card for payment. Find out more about what documents are needed to hire a van.

How old do I have to be to rent a vehicle?

For our insurance, you must be over 25 years, and have held a driving licence for a minimum of 12 months, we can arrange insurance for drivers between the ages of 21-24, with additional terms & conditions, and increased insurance excess, please call for further details.

Can I have more than one driver?

Yes, additional drivers are charged at £10 + VAT (one off charge) per driver, please note the liability for the vehicle will remain with the main signatory.

How much is the deposit/insurance excess?

The deposit on all vehicles is £500, and is payable, along with the rental charge upon collection, all payments are taken as a pre-authorised amount from a debit/credit card. The deposit can be used to cover your insurance excess, in the event of an OWN fault accident claim, or in the event the vehicle is returned with new damage which repair cost falls below the insurance excess.

What about fuel?

We supply the vehicle with a minimum of a ¼ of a tank and ask the vehicle is returned with the same amount.

What size van do I need?

Before choosing your van hire, look at your load and drive prediction. Larger vans hold more, but are more complex to park. Small vans can be easier for less experienced drivers, but may not be substantial enough for a home move. Find out more about what size van to choose using our quick guide.

Is there a mileage charge?

All vehicles are subject to a 250 miles per day limit up to 3 days hire, 4 consecutive rental days or more is unlimited mileage, additional mileage is charged at 20p + vat per mile and will be added to your final bill upon return. 

Can I insure the vehicle myself?

Yes, the insurance must be a commercial policy, with proof of insurance provided, before commencement of the hire, we can also provide additional discounts for using your own insurance, please call for details. 

Can I take the vehicle onto the continent?

Yes you can. We also now offer insurance and breakdown cover for continental trips. Please contact us for a quote and to make a booking.
