ID.3’s 'Pollution Eating Paint' campaign enjoyed international success picking up gold and silver honours at the Festival of Media Global Awards.
The campaign, which launched in October 2020 across streets in major UK cities, won gold for 'Best Launch' and silver for 'Creative Use of Media' at the annual ceremony, representing an outstanding success for Volkswagen.
The campaign also won a silver award at the Internationalist Media Innovation Awards the previous week.
The Pollution Eating Paint murals were visible in London, Bristol, Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham, and were estimated to be seen over seven million times across the cities. They were also seen a further 16 million times across social media. Overall the campaign drove over one million visits to the national brand website.
The eye-catching designs were painted with Airlite, which is a 100% natural material designed to eliminate bacteria and reduce pollutants, including nitrogen oxide (NOx).
The murals carried a strong message that the ID.3 has been created net carbon neutral.
