Well, that's exactly what happened at our recent Ladies' Night, held at JCB Medway Volkswagen in Gillingham.
We wanted our female customers to be comfortable and confident when visiting our showroom and workshop, so we thought we would invite them to an informal event so that they could see for themselves that it is quite a female friendly environment after all!
With only two gentlemen involved (that was one of our Technicians, Chris, - [although we do have a female Technician, Kyla], and the mocktail barman Benny), the rest of the evening was run by our female staff. This included a Sales Executive, Service Advisors, Service Administrators, Customer Experience Manager and our Group HR Manager. We were joined by our friends from Hot Trends salon who gave customers mini beauty treatments too.
Kate and Lydia ran a raffle in aid of local charity Breast Cancer Kent. We had lots of lovely prizes donated by local businesses and we sold so many raffle tickets we had to go out & buy more !!! – by 7.30pm we had sold 500 tickets ....
The Glitter Emporium donated a hamper and we asked for sealed bids to win it. The hamper was won by Rachel Hollands who gave the highest winning bid of £40.00. We are delighted to announce that the total raised for the charity was £232.22.
Every lady attending went home with a goody bag, which included a 'breast aware' leaflet for self-checking, provided by the charity, and lots of VW merchandise, plus one of our famous JCB mini teddies! Ladies have been asked to take a selfie with JCB Bear and post it on our Facebook or Instagram pages. The best one will win a prize.
All in all it was a great evening, with really positive energy. Ladies were able to ask lots of questions on the workshop tour, see the latest models, ask questions in the showroom, and chat with our staff about all aspects of the car industry, including careers for women.
