The UK's Best Selling Plug-in Hybrid - The Outlander PHEV was launched in June 2014 and immediately took the world by storm. Within its first year there were more than 10,000 Outlander PHEVs sold making it the UK’s best selling plug-in hybrid.
The new 2019 Outlander PHEV is a refined new evolution, with a new more powerful engine and increased battery capacity.
More Power and Performance
10% More Power and 10% More Torque
Increasing the engine size from 2.0L to 2.4L has allowed us to introduce the ultra-efficient ‘Atkinson Cycle’ which runs an engine at a lower RPM, with an equal power output, resulting in lower than expected emissions and noise output. It uses clever MIVEC technology to reduce engine capacity to equivalent of 1.7 litres for cruising (improving economy) with EV power to fill any performance gap. The result is ultra-low emissions of 40g/km CO2, ensuring that Outlander PHEV remains eligible for the Plug-in Car Grant and ultra-low company car tax.
Even More EV Performance
15% More Battery Capacity and 10Kw more Power
The latest Outlander PHEV sees an increase in both battery capacity and output. With this the battery now holds 15% more than the previous generation and outputs 10% more. The electric motors have also been upgraded allowing the rear motor to produce an extra 10KW.
Unleashing Hybrid Power
Outlander PHEV has been given a Sport Mode for the first time, providing highly responsive driving with sharper acceleration. It also benefits from agile manoeuvrability with more power distribution to the rear axle for improved Active Yaw Control (AYC) - delivering torque to the wheels with the best grip.
The exterior of the Outlander PHEV has undergone some subtle yet significant changes. An all new honeycomb grille, LED headlights, lower bumper extension, fog lamp bezels, 18” alloy wheels, rear spoiler and rear skid guard give the new Outlander PHEV even more presence on the road.
Bringing the new generation of Outlander PHEV into the modern age, we have fitted the interior with an all new black head lining (available on 4h upwards), auto up and down window switches on the drivers side, rear central air con vents and USB. The dash and door trim has also been updated to a new silver finish.
The instrument cluster in the 2019 Outlander PHEV has been updated to give you even more information. The rev counter on the left now shows you when the engine kicks in giving you even more power. The multi information display also has an extra charge meter and the ability to show you when sport mode has been engaged.
