Introducing the Kia Hybrid Range at JCB Kia

Kia is using electricity to create a brand new way of driving. Kia now offers a fantastic line up of low emission vehicles from Hybrids and Plug-ins to full EVs including the Niro, Optima, Optima SW and Soul models.

But how does it all work? Let us explain!

Hybrid vehicles

The Niro is Kia’s first SUV hybrid model, combining the luxury and space of an SUV with the eco-friendly benefits of a hybrid. When you start the vehicle or drive at slow speeds, the Kia Niro only uses its electric motor.

The Kia Niro battery is recharged during braking, when the energy it creates is converted and sent back to the battery. This clever system delivers the best performance and energy use, with no need to charge.

Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV)

Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) operates in a similar way to the Niro Hybrid, but with a much bigger battery. With the choice of full electric or hybrid driving mode, the Kia Optima PHEV can travel up to 54km* on full electric power before switching to its fuel engine. This allows drivers to continue their journey. Simply plug in and charge, then drive in full electric mode again.

Full electric vehicles (EV)

By storing energy in its rechargeable batteries and recharged using household electricity. It’s the ultimate in environmentally responsible driving.
