Volkswagen has been named the Manufacturer of the Year 2024 at the recent Great British Fleet Event in Milton Keynes (April 2024).
The Great British Fleet Event showcases the latest launches, solutions and developments in the fleet vehicle world. These awards were judged by Fleet World’s expert panel, who honour excellence in fleet management as well as the products and services that help companies to run safe, environmentally sustainable and cost-effective fleets.
Volkswagen was praised for its commitment to working in close partnership with its fleet customers and offering a wide range of cars that meet the needs of every business, large and small.
Not only did Volkswagen scoop the Manufacturer of the Year, the Touareg, our flagship SUV, won the Best Fleet Large SUV award.
Commenting on the Touareg’s Large SUV award, Fleet World editor John Challen said: “The new Touareg represents a big step forward when it comes to interior quality, refinement and performance. The latest plug-in hybrid model is an impressive and viable option for drivers who are keen to reduce fuel costs, but still experience all the benefits of a large SUV.”
The awards were presented to Owen Shepherd, Head of Direct Sales at Volkswagen UK, who said: “Being named Manufacturer of the Year at the Great British Fleet Awards is an honour, and to also pick up the trophy for Best Fleet Large SUV really is the icing on the cake.
