Top British motoring journalists have given great reviews of the new look Golf, which they recently tested at the international first-drive press launch in Majorca.
Autocar and Auto Express were among the first to test drive a selection of new models in left-hand drive in the beautiful setting.
Auto Express enthused: “The new 1.5-litre engine represents a colossal investment from the Volkswagen Group – and it appears to be worth every penny because it’s remarkably effective.”
Autocar said: “This is a car positioned at the nexus of value, desirability, usability, road-appropriate performance and dynamic sophistication, and accessible driver reward.”
Motoring Research declared they had “fallen head over heels for the standard Golf GTI”, while The Telegraph reported: “Volkswagen's devilishly desirable hatchback just got better, keeping its class lead in terms of build, driving appeal and sheer solidity.”
