The Sixth-generation Volkswagen Polo has a range of new technologies and efficient engines, along with a makeover inside and out.
Now open for order and arriving in showrooms January 2018.
Although still an ideal small car, the new Polo has increased cabin and luggage space and larger external dimensions than its predecessor. New engines, sharper design, new driver assistance systems and better infotainment, plus new Active Info Display make it a force to be reckoned with. Opening for order during October 2017, the first deliveries are due in January 2018.
A re-imagined classic, the Polo is a best seller - 1 in 4 new Volkswagens sold in the UK in 2016 was a Polo! Since its introduction in 1975, the Polo has sold 14 million cars!
About the 6th-generation Polo
The new Polo will be available as a 5 door only from this point onwards. Trim levels are yet to be confirmed but are likely to be similar to existing options. The best seller is predicted to be an SE specification petrol, manual TSI.
Improved driver assistance systems will be a feature of the new look model. City Emergency Braking, Pedestrian Monitoring, Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Detection all help you to improve the safety of your driving. The boot volume of the Polo has increased to 351 litres, allowing you to carry plenty of luggage in a supermini car.
New LED headlights replace all Xenon headlights and LED daytime running lights and rear lights are also available.
A completely redesigned interior allows a single 'visual and control axis', with instruments and infotainment merging on the same dashboard to give the driver fewer distractions and well displayed information.
6 petrol (TSI) and 2 diesel (TDI) engines are available. All are EU6 compliant. The petrol line up includes a new 1.5 TSI EVO petrol (150PS) version with Active Cylinder Technology to deliver cylinder deactivation. Gearboxes come in 5, 6 or even 7 speed in the DSG.
As before there is a GTI version of the new Polo, with 200PS 2.0 TSI petrol engine, with either 6 speed or 7 speed in DSG. EVO and GTI engines are not due to be available from launch, but at a later date to be confirmed.
Stock of the the Volkswagen Polo Hatchback is available for sale at the JCB Group VW dealerships in Kent. The new Polo will be available to factory order from October 2017.
