Gold Pin Award is icing on the cake for JCB Group’s van dealership

A senior manager at motor dealer JCB Group has been awarded one of the highest accolades from car and van giants Volkswagen.

The group’s Eurovans Volkswagen Van Centre dealership in Eastbourne has stepped into an exclusive club after Head of Business, Robin Day, was awarded the German company's Gold Pin Award.

The Gold Pin - an actual gold pin - is given to an average of 20 dealerships around the world each year.

“This is a once in a lifetime honour. It demonstrates Robin’s commitment, contribution and dedication to the Volkswagen brand,” said group Managing Director Jonathan Bischoff.

Jonathan added: “All the staff at the JCB Group are thrilled for him. Only a handful of Gold Pins are handed out each year across the hundreds of Volkswagen dealerships in the country which makes this even more special for Robin.”

“It’s a great honour and I was absolutely delighted – although completely surprised!” said Robin, “But I see this as a team award and I want to share it with everyone at Eurovans Eastbourne as they all made it possible.”

The Eurovans team’s first-class approach to customer service has delivered a host of motor industry accolades for the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles dealer this year, with the Gold Pin Award being the icing on the cake.

It comes after Aftersales Manager, Tom Paddock, was named as Volkswagen’s Customer Champion of 2016, while the dealership was named as Best Used Van Dealer of 2016 and received a silver Overall Van Centre award for the second year in a row at the national UK Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle Awards.

The awards are based on Volkswagen’s UK scorecard service, which recognises first-class customer care and excellent repair and maintenance facilities, not just volume of sales. They aim to support businesses by presenting a vehicle for sharing best practise and for promoting continuous improvement, learning and personal development.

More recently, the van centre’s Apprentice Technician Samuel Warren scooped Apprentice of Year at the Workshop Magazine Awards.
