Both newly re-vamped models feature new engines, re-designed exteriors and the latest in connectivity and infotainment systems.
The exteriors feature modified fog lights, a wider looking front, black tinted covers on the tail lights in the trade mark C-shape configuration and optional LED technology on the Rapid. The Spaceback SE Sport also has an extended rear window.
A new 1.0 litre TSI engine, in 2 power levels is now available for both models. Weighing less than the previous engine, the new one has reduced consumption and CO2 emissions. The two engines join the existing powertrains, which are all equipped with brake engine recovery, start-stop system and meet the EU6 emissions standards. The common rail diesels all have particulate filters. Here are a couple of examples:
|Maximum speed (mph)||0-62 mph (seconds)||Combined economy (mpg)||CO2 (g/km)|

Infotainment and Technology
ŠKODA Connect has infotainment online available with Amundsen sat nav and online traffic guidance. CareConnect uses a permanently integrated SIM card to place an emergency call which is triggered after a restraint system, such as the airbag, is deployed. CareConnect services also include a breakdown call function to arrange help when needed or answer questions on vehicle technology. Proactive Service transfers maintenance relevant vehicle data to the ŠKODA workshop in good time before a service.
The Smarphone Connect App gives remote access vehicle information, so you can check whether the windows, doors or sunroof are closed. You can also check the fuel level. You can even display the current parking position on the smartphone - how many times have you forgotten where you parked the car! Magic.
Production of this model starts on 29th May 2017.
